"Odyssey"-Jenny Nelson & David Shaw"Odyssey"-Jenny Nelson & David ShawJenny Nelson  divides her life between Skopelos and the N.E. of England, spending most of the spring and summer months on the island. After a working carrer in the law and latterly in social care , on retirement  she started to explore the islands of Greece and was inspired by Skopelos to fulfil her interest in painting which she had inherited from her parents , who were both recognised artists. She lives up near the Kastro in a small town house which she renovated some twenty years ago and spends her time on the island walking, painting or drawing. Most of her work is watercolour or pen and it takes its inspiration from the island's landscape, buildings and natural vegetation.

David Shaw was born in post-war Britain. As a structural engineer, he spent his career ruling straight lines while secretly admiring the freedom of expression in the illustrations of architect colleagues.  He now enjoys the ability to create work free from restraint, reflecting the beautiful environment that surrounds him. David has been painting for over twenty years and works predominately in the medium of freehand drawing, adding watercolour to capture the charming quaintness of architectural detail that might otherwise go unnoticed by a casual observer.  His paintings are deeply rooted in architecture, fully utilising his technical skills obtained as a draughtsman. Spending time between his 200 year old home in Skopelos and picturesque village life in England, David takes inspiration in the plentiful vistas and views that are sufficient to satisfy any artist.  You will often find him sitting outside a local house as he undertakes a commissioned work.  He delights in sharing his artwork with the knowledge that his paintings are displayed on walls around the world. In addition to painting, David also spends his time tinkering in the shed turning pieces of wood into items of beauty, lovingly renovating homes in two countries and pottering in the garden.
